In mid-2021, I took part in a workshop on Deep Mapping. What is that I hear you ask! Well, there are many ways to define it, but for me it is a process of getting to know a place in depth through spending time in it, being mindful of its environment. I capture my responses to these experiences through photography, audio recordings and poetry. I also deepen my knowledge of the place through historical and social research, leading to multiple layers of understanding. Here is my Deep Map of Bradley Leat, Newton Abbot, Devon.
